Notre Dame: Encore

My first trip to Notre Dame was on my own time, and today we got to go as a class. Going to the cathedral with a professor who actually knows what he's talking about and doesn't just ogle the stained glass certainly paid off! We also got to see the Archelogical Crypt under Notre Drame, as well as the Treasury. The third photo is from the crypt, which shows an original staircase of a house which once stood in the village next to Notre Dame during the Middle Ages. In the Treasury of Notre Dame, there were all sorts of artifacts, ranging from robes to chalices to statues. The chalices on display were from the 14th century. The second to last picture is a reliquary (container) for "la Couronne d'Epines;" the Crown of Thorns.
